We interviewed Elias at their recent gig at the Islington O2 Academy in London, UK and you can read the interview below.
On 26th November 2015, Nonpoint supported Fozzy at the Islington O2 Academy in London, and we caught up with Elias for a short time before the show.
We asked him about the current tour, some history behind Nonpoint and about the band's sound. The full transcript is below.
We would like to thank Elias for his time and the interview.
M-Live Pro: Hi Elias, so you're on tour with headliners Fozzy and also Sumo Cyco, how's the tour going?
Elias: Amazing, we've met some new friends, caught up with some old friends. The Fozzy camp are awesome, Sumo Cyco are too, and the tour is going really well.
M-Live Pro: You played in Paris about a week after the attacks, how did that go?
Elias: It went well, we changed our set and played a song called "Fucked Up World". We just had to play the show, and the fans were great. I think it was one of the first shows that went on since that night, and I think it just needed to happen.
M-Live Pro: Can you tell us some history behind the band?
Elias: We were formed in Florida in 1997, and released our first album "Separate Yourself" ourselves. Since then we've been fairly active releasing albums and touring. Our last album "The Return" was released last year and we're going to be working on our new album early next year.
M-Live Pro: How would you describe the Nonpoint sound?
Elias: Generally it's a heavy sound with a mix of groove, rap and alternative, we kind to like to experiment a bit, this can also be seen in some of the covers we choose.
